October Meeting — Monday 9/12

Come “discover” the Gay Fathers of Greater Chicago monthly meeting, Monday October 12th at 7:30 PM.

This month, we’ll workshop some ideas discussed in “The Velvet Rage: Growing Up Gay in a Straight World,” by Alan Downs.

Our monthly meetings involve a presentation or workshop from a psychological professional, or member-led small group discussions. Always active, open, friendly meetings where men can share with other men who understand their situations.

Usually around 15 men are there, and afterwards, if the spirits move us closer to spirits, we’ll share some food over a drink afterwards.

Everything we do focuses on supporting Gay Fathers, from supportive listening, to peer-led focus on the issues of coming out, children, growing up gay in a straight world, and building and maintaining healthy authentic relationships.

A volunteer door donation of five dollars helps us pay for this here website, and publicity for our group …
